Being a parent is hard and has some tough challenges, but Being a parent of 2 beautiful autistic kids has some let’s just say extra challenges, but one question I get asked a lot, is how do you find time to go to the gym and to run?
Well the honest answer is I haven’t a bloody clue 🤷🏻♂️😅
For any parent getting time to yourself is a challenge, but one thing I have found is YOU JUST MAKE TIME! Especially for the things you really love doing, I know controversial right? but the truth is as a parent that’s what you need to do, life is hard and you can’t give all you’re time to everyone else, you need time for you and I’ll give you 2 reasons why.
1: because it’s important both mentally and physically to have time to be you, we all need time to ourselves regardless of how we get it or how we spend that time, whether it’s a coffee with a friend or a workout in the gym or if you’re really lucky you can do both in the movement studio 😉😁 but either way this is a necessity for every parent and everyone, to do this!
2: what reason 1 said!
Making time for ourselves as parents is hard to do but making excuses for not finding that time is even easier, so it’s you’re choice.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you

right. Forget about those who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it.
The challenges we face everyday as parents of autistic kids, makes me personally want to challenge myself more, both physically and mentally, there is daily obstacles to overcome to find the time to do stuff that I love to do, but it gives me the opportunity to learn and to grow as a dad and as a person on a daily basis and for that I am forever grateful!
Cheers peeps
Yes, I’m still running everyday 50k done and dusted in the last 7 days 👊🏻 And only 150k to go 😅
The running part I’m finding relatively easy, getting the time is another thing 👀 some days it feels like I’m running on a hamster wheel 🤷🏻♂️, but this is where running experience comes into play and as I have been running close to over 12 years now, you learn a lot about running and yourself and one important thing I learnt was to find that meditative state when running,

This is when you completely shut off whether it’s a podcast, audiobook, nice relaxing music like system of a down 👀listening to the sounds around you or you’re very heavy feet slapping the ground (that’s a different discussion) it’s finding what works for you, finding you’re meditative running centre.
Running and meditation are very personal activities. Therefore they are lonely. This loneliness is one of their best qualities because it strengthens our incentive to motivate ourselves.
Sakyong mipham,
There is a lot to learn about yourself when you are running Solo! You should give it a try 😁 want some help? just give me a shout😉
Day dreaming is another common side affect from meditative running it’s autopilot of the brain and one thing I noticed is when I’m in my meditative state every pizza advertisement I see waves at me.
Cheers peeps

Catchy title I know 😅
So for the last 4 days I have been running daily between 5k-10k each day depending on time and how bad the Dom’s are 🤷🏻♂️ there are 2 reasons why I’m doing it, reason 1: to run 200k+ in one month because I do love a challenge 😁 (luckily March has 31 one days) there was no way I was doing it February, reason 2: is to help build my aerobic base, no not a base that we built when we were kids and we wanted to play cowboys and Indians. 🤷🏻♂️
Also how old am I 😅
So what is an aerobic base? well hold on there now and I’ll tell you,
First off Building your aerobic base is something everyone should do – runner or not!
When we move or do some physical work our body needs to burn fuel for energy there are two main sources of that fuel carbohydrates and fat.
The more intense we work out the more carbohydrates are the preferred fuel.
The term aerobic means – “with oxygen”. The term anaerobic means “without oxygen”. When we workout with very high intensity our body can no longer supply enough oxygen to burn that fuel, so we start using our very limited anaerobic capacity.
So by working out – running – at low heart rates – as low as 60–75% of our maximum we train our bodies to burn fat for fuel and we can take in enough oxygen to satisfy the demand.
By staying in that “fat burning” zone, you get better at using fat and you find you can run faster at the same HR. This period of training is called base building, building your aerobic base is by far the most important thing you can do health wise and if you eventually want to run faster. You are adapting your slow twitch muscle fibers to have more endurance. You build new capillaries, the mitochondria in your cells get bigger and stronger and gain more of them. Your resting HR gets lower and most likely so does your blood pressure and weight (well I hope😅)
Simples!
Want to follow my running journey? And all things from the Movement studio, you can find all the links are on the homepage 😁
Cheers peeps 😁

So this is where one journey ends and another one begins.
We all at some stage in our working life will hit a cross roads, you think am I going anywhere in this job? Am I happy with my job? Am I ready to still be here doing this when I’m 65? Well are you? My answer when I hit this crossroads was NO! I have worked in a health care setting since I was 17, not that I don’t like my job, I do! Well I did, I hit a wall where I knew I couldn’t go any further in it and I needed to at least know there was a chance, but unfortunately there wasn’t, that’s when it was very clear it was time for a change!
So here we are a new chapter endless amount of opportunities with good people, the best people, I have now surrounded myself with like minded and positive people who want to keep being a better version of themselves daily, lucky? Yes very! The movement studio is my new home a place to shine a place to be me, finally!!
So what’s all this nonsense going to be? Exactly what the title says 🤷🏻♂️😅 Ramblings!
I will chat about training, running, lifting weights, the movement studio, life, friends, kids, family. All the good stuff 😊 so be prepared for nonsense 😅😅 oh and any spelling mistakes don’t worry I’m sure someone will correct me along the way 😁😊
Cheers peeps 👊🏻
